Catoosa County is celebrating a new technical college campus.

The Georgia Northwestern Technical College Catoosa County Campus began holding classes last month, and officials cut the ribbon Monday.  The school specializes in health occupations, business and service industries. A large crowd was on hand to celebrate the new 60,000 square foot facility, which sits on 36 acres with room to grow.

Georgia State Senator Jeff Mullis helped spearhead the project in the legislature, and says plans are in the works for expansion.  He cited mechatronics, website design, and emergency medical services as among the top occupation in the future, and he says the six GNTC campuses will be ready to meet the demand.
