UPDATE: Hamilton Co. Sheriff's Office investigating Sale Creek barn fire

Posted: Updated:
HAMILTON COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -

Sale Creek Volunteer firefighters were called to a barn fire Saturday afternoon.

It was reported around 11:20am from 12707 Pendergrass Road.

A Hamilton County EMS spokeswoman Amy Maxwell says the barn was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived. Since there was no hydrant close by, Maxwell says firefighters used a tanker shuttle, which contains a continuous supply of water, to fighter the blaze.

Maxwell says the barn housed farm equipment, tools and other supplies.

No one was injured.

The Hamilton County 911 call log shows the Sequoyah Volunteer Fire Department was called in to help with the fire shortly before 11:40am. The Soddy Daisy Fire Department was also called to the scene.

The cause of the fire is unknown and being investigated by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
