UPDATE: Walker Valley High teacher resigns after sending inappropriate texts to student

BRADLEY COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -

UPDATE: Bradley County Director of Schools, Dr. Linda Cash received a letter of resignation from Mr. Johnathan Dycus, a teacher at Walker Valley High School. 

Dycus was on suspension without pay due to allegations of inappropriate communication with a student. 

Dr. Cash says all classes taught by Mr. Dycus will continue under the direction of a certified Advance Placement (AP) teacher in preparation for College Board exams in May.


PREVIOUS STORY: A teacher has been suspended from Walker Valley High School for sending inappropriate text messages to a student.

Bradley County director of schools Linda Cash says the teacher has been suspended without pay pending an internal investigation.

Cash released the following statement to Channel 3, "JD (Jonathan Dycus) was suspended without pay pending an internal investigation related  to inappropriate communication with a student."

No criminal charges have been filed against Dycus.
