RED BANK, TN (WRCB) -

A Red Bank family lost their home this afternoon due to a house fire.

The Red Bank Fire Department responded to a 9-1-1 call shortly after 4:20 P.M. on 34 Paulmer Dr. and reported heavy fire coming from the garage, attic, and smoke pouring from the eaves of the home.

Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene after Red Bank Fire Department requested additional manpower.

The renter of the home, Eva Floyd, reported to fire officials that she had been home for five minutes when she smelled something burning in the house. When she went outside to investigate, she found smoke coming from the garage.

Floyd immediately evacuated the home with her dog, but was unable to retrieve her four cats from the burning home.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined at this time and is under investigation by the Red Bank Fire Department.
