A flurry of special events in Chattanooga will have some impact on roads through downtown and other areas this weekend.
Thursday, September 8 - Saturday, September 10
TN Tow Show: Road closures for this event include 13th St. from Fort St. to Chestnut St. and Fort St. from 13th to 14th St. On Saturday, September 10th, two southbound lanes of Broad St. between W. 13th St. to W. Main St. will be blocked for a parade that will continue onto W. Main St. and down Riverfront Pkwy. from 6pm to 7:30pm. In addition to the many events hosted by the International Towing Museum, this weekend offers free admission to the Tennessee Tow Show, several social activities and a Saturday night parade through the heart of Chattanooga that ends at Ross’s Landing park on the banks of the Tennessee River for food trucks, fireworks and live entertainment. UTC Football Home Game: The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's 2016 football schedule continues on September 10th at Finley Stadium, the second of six home games for the Mocs. Reggie White Blvd. will be closed on front of the First TN Pavilion. Blues in the Knob: Road Closures include N. Orchard Knob Ave. from E. 5th St. to Ivy St. and Ivy St. from N. Hawthorne St. to N. Orchard Knob Ave. from 10am to Midnight. Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, the Orchard Knob Neighborhood Association, and the Friends of the Park are partnering on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 5-10 p.m. at Orchard Knob Reservation (corner of Orchard Knob Ave. and Ivy St. in Chattanooga) to bring the public a Centennial event on Orchard Knob. Chattanooga Market: Reggie White Boulevard will be closed from the entrance to the skate park to 19th Street on Sunday, September 11 from 6:00 am until 8:00 pm.The largest producer-only public market in the region. Run of Honor: Road closures for this event include Main St between Madison St. and Carter St., as well as lane closures on Bailey Ave, Central Ave. and S. Holtzclaw Ave from 7am to 11am. The Run of Honor 8K and 1 mile fun run is held to support the public servants of our community and is organized together with the Fraternal Order of Police from Rock City and the Chattanooga Market. Hot Bike Tour: Fort St. from W. 13th St. to W. Main St. and W. 14th St. from Chestnut St. to Carter St. will be closed from 6am to 8pm for this event.
