Derrick Henry honors former teammate with new number
The rookie running back has changed his number from 2 to 22, due to NFL rules.
You may have noticed former Alabama running back and 2015 Heisman Trophy winner, Derrick Henry sporting his college number 2 throughout preseason.
The rookie running back has changed his number from 2 to 22, due to NFL rules. Henry chose to remember his former Alabama teammate, Altee Tenpenny, who said he was going to wear number 22 if he made it to the NFL. Tenpenny was killed in an car accident in October of 2015.
Henry is expected to be a key contributor in the Titans backfield with DeMarco Murray. Murray was acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles in the off-season.
The Titans open the season against the Minnesota Vikings at 1 p.m. Sunday, September, 11th.
