Teacher arrested after having sex with student at school

Posted: Updated:

SELMA, Ala. (AP) - Police say a central Alabama high school teacher accused of having sex with a student faces multiple charges after a video of her committing the sexual act surfaced on social media.

Selma Police Chief John Brock tells local news media that 33-year-old Charlaina Lee Wilson was arrested Friday. She worked as an agriculture science teacher for eight months at Selma High School.

Wilson is charged with rape, sodomy, transmitting obscene material to a child by computer and distributing material harmful to minors.

Lt. Sam Miller says Wilson had sex with the student multiple times at different locations, including on school grounds. The relationship between each spanned a couple years.

Wilson is being held at the Dallas County jail on a $1,006,000 bond. It's unclear whether she has an attorney.

School officials say Wilson resigned.
