Chattanooga Mocs kick off football season with pregame concert, new student initiatives

Posted: Updated:

The 2016 college football season will begin tonight and the Chattanooga Mocs will kick off the season with a number of exciting pregame activities.

The Chattanooga Mocs are set to play against Shorter at 7:00 p.m.

A number of new student initiatives were released last week in preparation for the new season.

Some of the new initiatives include student shuttles provided by CARTA, more free student parking, a bigger student section in the stands, and a new entry gate called the "EPB Student Gate", where students can get in the game free with a valid ID.

The Finley Stadium has also upgraded a few features, which include new POS systems that will allow credit cards to be accepted at all Finley operated concession areas. There will also be an ATM available on the South Concourse

Some cool places to watch out for: the Papa John's food tent, and a Zaxby's concession stand.

Along with the new features, the Chattanooga Mocs are inviting fans to participate in the many pregame festivities.

A pregame party will be located on the east side of Finley Stadium, near Chestnut Street.

Students are invited to tailgate there, and attend the pregame concert. Tailgating will also be allowed in all parking lots around the Finley Stadium.

Those wearing Mocs gear this evening will enjoy specials at the Chattanooga Brewery and Southside Social, and EPB is providing complimentary wireless access for the entire area.

The pregame concert for the kickoff game against Shorter will be headlined by Dylan Scott, and begins at 5:00 p.m.

For more information, visit the Chattanooga Mocs website.
