Resurfacing work begins this weekend in Dalton
Motorists should expect single-lane closures while the work is being conducted and active work zones.
Construction work will begin this weekend on Waugh Street and MLK Boulevard in Dalton.
The project includes 3.6 total miles of milling and resurfacing on Waugh Street, beginning at Shugart Road and ending at the Waugh Street Bridge, and on MLK Boulevard from Glenwood Avenue to Rushmore Drive within the city limits.
Since the project goes through Dalton, work will mostly occur during the night to minimize the impact on daytime traffic flow.
However, some necessary utility adjustments will be made during daytime hours after the completion of the resurfacing project.
Motorists should expect single-lane closures while the work is being conducted as well as active work zones throughout these sections of Waugh Street and MLK Blvd.
Drivers should reduce their speed and exercise caution in these work zones.
