A report released by the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office shows the man killed earlier this month on Water Street was shot to death after answering his door.
Marquise Lebron Jackson Sr., age 24, died on August 7 following a shooting at his home on Water Street.

A narrative, included in the medical examiner’s report, says an “unknown assailant” knocked on Jackson’s front door. When Jackson answered the door he was shot multiple times and collapsed.
Someone at the home called 911 and first responders arrived to perform CPR, but Jackson could not be revived.
According to the report, Jackson was shot five times in the left arm, torso and left leg.

Jackson’s death was part of a string of gang-related shootings, that included the shooting of 22-month-old child on the same street where Jackson lived.
Chattanooga Police are still working to name a suspect in Jackson’s murder.
