UPDATE: After a week of fast-paced work, the football field for September 10's Battle at Bristol football game has been laid down and crews continue the transformation.

EarthCam now has a live webcam that allows fans to watch the work being done on the track to prepare for what is being billed as college football's biggest game.

Tennessee and Virginia Tech meet Sept. 10 before an anticipated crowd in excess of 150,000, the largest ever to witness a football game.

The conversion began following the NASCAR Sprint Cup race on last week.

The giant overhead scoreboard displayed a countdown clock. The crews have to build a football field in the infield of the track in time for the kickoff on Sept. 10.
