Minority health fair provides free health screenings

Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Hundreds of people received free medical testing at Eastgate Mall, Saturday.

The Minority Health Clinic provided more than 100 vendors making various types of screenings available including prostate exams, bone density checks, blood pressure checks, and overall health information and resources.

Music and guest speakers also entertained the crowd.

Organizers say they wanted to serve the community the best way possible.

"We wanted to provide a venue where they could come out and not be worried or concerned about insurance or cost. We wanted to start addressing that, but its grown to include women and children," said Tony Sammons, organizer.

This year marked the clinic's 14th anniversary.

Last year more than three-thousand people attended.
