Hamilton County Sheriff's Office have identified the man in an officer involved shooting that killed the suspect on Friday night.

Todd P. Browning, 54, approached police officers with knife before being shot by an officer, according to eyewitnesses.
HCSO says they are not releasing the officer who shot Browning at this time.

PREVIOUS STORY: Matt Lea with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says the suspect in the officer-involved shooting in East Ridge has died.
It happened on Prigmore Road. The Hamilton County 911 call log shows a call reporting a disorder with a weapon came in at 5:48pm from Auto Zone on Ringgold Road.
Lea says East Ridge police arrived at Auto Zone and found the suspect with a knife. The suspect ran from police to a home at 1702 Prigmore Road.
Lea says as police approached the suspect, the suspect ignored officers' commands and approached them with an "unknown weapon" forcing officers to fire their weapons.
Eyewitnesses say the suspect approached police with a knife. Lea would not confirm the kind of weapon the suspect had during the shooting.

Witnesses tell Channel 3, they heard four gunshots and went outside to find a man lying in a driveway.
The identities of the suspect and police involved have not been released.
