Food Bank, others deliver 16,000 pounds of food to East Side Elementary

Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

The monthly mobile pantry event at East Side Elementary School in Chattanooga was another huge success. Thanks to the faculty, volunteers, and the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, the school distributed over 16,000 pounds of food (13,000 meals) to families.

For the past year, once monthly, the Food Bank and a few other donors help the families in the East Side community.

They bring a fully loaded truck of food.  Teachers and numerous volunteers from TVA, Signal Crest United Methodist Church, BlueCross BlueShield and others help deliver and distribute the food.
