UPDATE: Erlanger contractor charged with sexual battery
A woman told police she contacted Marcereau and later met with him on August 5 after visiting a friend at the hospital.
UPDATE: A spokesman for Sodexo confirmed to Channel 3 that Wayne Marcereau is a Sodexo employee.
Marcereau has been placed on administrative leave pending the result of the legal process. Sodexo says they take "matters like this seriously and we will corporate fully with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office’s investigation."
PREVIOUS STORY: An Erlanger contractor is charged with sexual battery following an alleged incident in the hospital’s parking deck.
On Tuesday, Chattanooga Police arrested 45-year-old Wayne Marcereau of Calhoun, GA.
According to court documents, a woman told police she contacted Marcereau and later met with him on August 5 after visiting a friend at the hospital.
She told police she met Marcereau on the third floor of the parking deck, where he attempted to get her into his car. That’s when she refused and Marcereau allegedly touched her inappropriately while making sexual advances. The alleged victim told police she was able to push Marcereau away and walk back into the hospital.
Marcereau is due in court on the charge on August 25.
Channel 3 has reached out to Erlanger for comment. They tell us Marcereau is an employee of Sodexo, which has a contract for housekeeping and food services at Erlanger.
