PREVIOUS STORY: Chattanooga police are searching for the person responsible for a murder that happened on Sunday. When police arrived to East 41st Street, they found 35-year-old Jermichael Bowling dead.
"He did what he could to help people out. He would do for anybody else what he would do for himself. It's just hard to believe," Tiffany Sanders, the victim's girlfriend said.
Bowling was a father and many described him as outgoing and always focusing on his family.
"It hurts. I mean that was my best friend. It hurts really bad," Sonia Ward, a friend said.
Friends like Ward said they have more questions than answers at this point. Right now, police aren't sure who shot Bowling or the reason behind it.
"Why would you kill my best friend? Why did you kill him? For what? He didn't have anything. He didn't have no money. He didn't have cars. He didn't have clothes. Why would you kill him?," Ward said.
Flowers and a balloon now sit outside a home on East 41st Street. Family and friends said it's a reminder they're going to keep pushing for answers.
"I just want justice and want to know what really happened and why anybody would want to do that to him," Sanders said.
