Good Sunday. If we can make it through the relentless heat and humidity over the next few days, we may be rewarded by lower temps and more rain late in the week.
Today, look for a nice mix of sun and clouds with only a slight chance for a shower or two near the Blue Ridge. Highs today will be around 95 with the heat index close to 100.
Monday through Wednesday we will taunted by a rain producing front that is stalled to our west. That will mean a continuation of the heat and humidity as highs stay generally in the low 90s and the rain chance doesn't get above 20%. Late Wednesday that front is expected to start drifting east and that is when things may change for the better.
Thursday looks to finally be a rainy day as that front drifts and settles over the Tennessee Valley. Some long range model data suggests that front stalls over us bringing rain to the area Thursday through next weekend. Here's hoping.
