No Hamilton County or north Georgia restaurants failed health inspections this week, but one came close.
Double Barrel BBQ Mobile on Signal Mountain scored a 71, only two points above a failing grade of 69 or less. An inspector watched an employee put food on the floor, then move it to the prep counter. There also wasn't any hot water. The inspector shut down the food truck until the water situation was corrected. The truck reopened with a 93 on a second inspection.
Rafael's on Dayton Boulevard was only slightly better with a score of 72. Inspectors discovered grease build up throughout the restaurant, food left uncovered in coolers, cracked containers used to hold sliced tomatoes and wet pans stacked in clean storage.
Good news for fans of Genghis Grill on Market Street in downtown Chattanooga. After posting a failing grade of 57 last week for violations that included roaches crawling on the walls, the restaurant turned things around to score a 93 on a re-inspection.
