UPDATE: A Soddy Daisy family is searching for answers after a 34-year-old mother was found dead.
Investigators found the body of Brittany Fritts Weathers inside a Sequatchie County trailer on Saturday.
Family members tell Channel 3 they have more questions than answers, and still don't know how she died. They say they're hopeful the truth comes to light.
"She had a heart bigger than anyone in the world," Chastity Dennis said of her younger sister, while fighting back tears. "She would give anybody anything. She loved everyone."
Weathers, a mother of two from Soddy Daisy, was found dead in Whitwell on Saturday. Investigators discovered her body on the floor of the trailer she shared with her boyfriend on Higdon Road.
"I hope the truth comes out," Dennis said.
While making plans at the funeral home, family were even more dismayed when they viewed Weathers' body.
"Both sides of her face were beat in," said Dennis. "There were black and blue bruises everywhere. Her nose looked crushed."
Dennis wonders how her sister's injuries were serious enough to kill her.
"The medical examiner said that the cause of death at this point was blunt force injury to her head," she said.
The TBI is helping with the investigation, but deferred all questions to the Sequatchie County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Ronnie Hitchcock tells Channel 3, Weathers did show signs of head trauma, but investigators still aren't sure what caused it.
The lack of details leaves her family desperate to learn something.
"I just want justice for her," Dennis said. "She deserves that."
Sequatchie County investigators said it's too early to tell if this was a homicide. They are not releasing a cause of death at this point, citing an open investigation.
