DALTON, GA (WRCB) -

A routine traffic stop turned into something more Tuesday, when a Dalton Police deputy stopped a man wanted for murder and aggravated assault.

According to police,Leandro Lozano-Jiminez, had been hiding out in Dalton since 2011 after fleeing Houston, Texas.

Houston officials say, Lozano-Jiminez allegedly shot two brothers shortly after midnight on January 1, 2010. One, an 18 year old, later died of his wounds.

Tuesday evening, a Dalton Police deputy pulled over a red Jeep on Hawkins Way for a taillight violation. Lozano-Jiminez then allegedly gave the officer a false name, and said he didn’t have a driver’s license.

The deputy arrested Lozano-Jiminez. After fingerprinting, the 27-year-old Houston native’s real identity came to light.

After further investigation, authorities say they discovered that Lozano Jiminez had been living and working in Dalton under the name Felix Cruz Ocasio since 2011.
