Dehydrated hiker rescued on Lookout Mountain

A man was rescued after getting lost in the woods during a hike on Lookout Mountain. 

Crews with Hamilton County Special Tactics and Rescue Services, or STARS, were called to Scenic Highway just before 4pm Monday.

According to dispatchers, a man contacted 911 for assistance after becoming lost on trails. Crews have been in contact with the hiker. 

Cravens House is part of the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park and is located at the north end of Lookout Mountain south of Chattanooga.

A source close to the situation says that the man was hiking near Covenant College in Dade County and they were the people that located him.

Officials say the man was dehydrated and will fully recover.
