HAYWARD, Calif. (GoMocs.com) ---Chattanooga Mocs alum Stephan Jaeger '12 completed a record-shattering weekend winning the Ellie Mae Classic at TPC Stonebrae. It's his first win on the Web.com Tour.
His 30-under par 250 is the lowest aggregate score across the major tours. Not only did he set a new 72-hole Web.com Tour mark, but also the 18 (58), 36 (123) and 54-hole (187) scores.
Jaeger ended with a final round 63 (-7). He ended up seven strokes clear of Rhein Gibson in second. The -30 total is matched only by Daniel Chopra (258) at the 2004 Henrico County Open.
The previous American tour best was 254 by Tommy Armour III at the 2003 Valero Open on the PGA Tour. Steve Wheatcroft turned in a 255 for the former Web.com Tour mark at the 2011 Melwood Prince George's County Open.
Jaeger tallied an eagle and 29 birdies with one lone bogey to account for his 250. The win moves him into the top 25 on the money list. Finishing in that position earns a PGA Tour Card for 2017.
