CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Chattanooga police assisted McKamey Animal Center with an animal welfare call Thursday when a suspect jumped out of the second story of a home on Curtis Street.

Police followed on foot and the suspect, Tommy Barkley, was apprehended by CPD K9 Anik.

Barkley was arrested for outstanding warrants, and police say other charges against him are likely.

Police say the K9 Officer was not injured but was struck by Barkley.

The suspect was also hit with a stun gun, which reportedly had no effect.

Charges of animal cruelty on the suspect are likely for hitting CPD K9 Anik during the arrest.
