A routine traffic stop led to a police chase on Johnson Blvd. in Bradley County, Tuesday afternoon. 

A Bradley County deputy observed a driver without wearing his seatbelt, and proceeded to initiate a traffic stop. Once the deputy activated his emergency lights, the vehicle accelerated in speed and led deputies on a chase on several roads. 

The vehicle suddenly came to a stop, and Jeffery A. Evans attempted to evade on foot into the woods, but was taken into custody without incident. 

Evans was arrested on two outstanding warrants for Misdemeanor Failure to Appear and is charged with Felony Evading Arrest, Reckless Driving, Driving while Revoked, and No Seatbelt.
