UPDATE: A Bradley County woman died when her mobile home caught fire on Monday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the 200 block of Calhoun Rd. in Cleveland, just after 1:30 p.m.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause.

"A neighbor behind her trailer noticed the smoke and called it in," said Lindsay Hathcock, Bradley County PIO.

When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting out of the left side of the home. After the fire was put out, they found a body on the opposite side of the trailer.

"She was away from the sitting room, more towards the kitchen area," Hathcock said.

Family members told Channel 3 they believe 66-year-old Donna Jacobs died of smoke inhalation. Jacobs' mother shared a photo with us.

"She lived by herself in the mobile home, but she is surrounded by immediate family members here," said Hathcock.

Other family members, who also live on the property, were home when the fire broke out, but they never saw any flames or smelled any smoke until it was too late.

"It's very sad," said neighbor Michelle Callahan.

Many nearby residents stopped by to see what happened.

"I've lived here 12 years, and this is the first time anything's ever happened in this area," said Callahan, adding it's tough news to tell her young children.

"Tell them just to pray and think of the family," she said.

Firefighters will be on the scene through the night to keep the home secure until the state fire marshal can investigate.
