In the dog days of summer, sometimes, you just need to visit paradise. One’s man idea of paradise is a little closer than you might think, it’s in North Georgia.

Howard Finster’s Paradise Gardens in Chattooga County was created  by last century’s most prolific artist as a way to showcase his work.

Finster was a self-proclaimed “man of vision."  He was one of the most famous artist to work with pop culture in the 1980s and early 1990s.

The grandfather of Southern folk art brings in visitors from around the world, making Chattooga County a must-see destination. His art and message continues to inspire visitors who can see past the rough edges of his artwork.

Executive Director Jordon Poole, said Paradise Gardens “really is a testament to one person’s ambitions and goals and hard work.”
