Good Monday. The heat and humidity continue as we climb to 96 this afternoon with the heat index between 100 and 103. I would expect more hit and miss storms this afternoon with heavy rain and gusty winds the biggest threat.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be about the same. Late this week we will get a little relief from the heat as temps actually go down a bit. I expect highs to hover in the low 90s Thursday through the weekend.
There is a front to our west that is flirting with moving into the Tennessee Valley. As it drifts back and forth, it will help fuel afternoon storms each day. With that said, storms that develop each day will be isolated and not much help in relieving the overall drought status.
