No failures, but cross contamination concerns at one Signal Mountain restaurant

Posted: Updated:

The streak of high scores continues this week with lots of restaurants posting high scores, particularly in Catoosa County.

No restaurants failed.

The lowest score of the week for Hamilton County came from El Metate I on Taft Highway in Signal Mountain. The Mexican restaurant posted a score of 78. A failing grade is a 69 or below.

The inspector took off points for cross contamination concerns after a cook used the same gloves to handle raw chicken, beef and shrimp and found raw chicken touching raw beef and sausage.

They did, however, compliment employees on good handwashing.

Several restaurants posted a perfect score of 100.

Congratulations to:

  • Chattanooga Subway on KOA Boulevard in Ringgold, Ga.
  • Dogwood Bible Camp Cafeteria on Dogwood Valley Road in Tunnel Hill, Ga.
  • Moe’s Southwest Grill on Parkway Drive in Rossville, Ga.
  • Mumdee’s on Chattanooga Valley Road in Flintstone, Ga.
  • Neveria on Direct Connection Drive in Rossville, Ga.
