Near-record heat combine with dangerous afternoon humidity

Posted: Updated:

Good Tuesday.  The average high is 90 for this time of year.  I would give several paychecks to have a high as low as 90 right about now.  Afternoon highs will be running 5-10 degrees above average into next week, and then there's the humidity.  The heat index each afternoon will range from 100 to 105.

Today look for a partly cloudy sky with the high reaching 96.  We will see one or two afternoon storms moving from north to south.

Wednesday we will get to 97, but skies will be mostly sunny, with no rain at all.  As a matter of fact, during the evening hours the humidity will be a little lower.

Thursday will be sunny and dry as well with the high still climbing to 96.  The humidity will be inching back up Thursday.  The high will reach 96 with a heat index of about 100.

Friday through the weekend will be ridiculous.  Highs will be in the upper 90s, and the heat index will top out at about 105.  We may see one or two weekend storms, but they will be few and far between.
