Tennessee man accused of abandoning dogs after moving
Police in east Tennessee say a man allegedly abandoned three dogs behind after moving out of a home.
ROGERSVILLE, TN (AP) - Police in northeast Tennessee say a man allegedly abandoned three dogs behind after moving out of a home.
The Kingsport Times-News (http://bit.ly/2a0GrUj ) reports Chad Edgar Horton was arraigned last week on one count of animal cruelty in Hawkins County Sessions Court.
Hawkins County Sheriff's Deputy Mark Harrell responded to the home earlier this month and found three dogs in poor condition without food or water.
Harrell says a witness reported Horton and his family had moved out of the residence near Rogersville two months earlier.
The newspaper says Horton and his family had moved into a used mobile home on the property in March 2014 after another home was destroyed by fire. The mobile home had been paid for by community donations.
