A Hamilton County Sheriff's Office deputy is recovering from minor injuries after his patrol car was hit by a civilian car. 

Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says the deputy was traveling southbound on Highway 58 sustained minor injuries when his marked patrol unit was hit by a Chevy Silverado traveling north on Highway 58 while attempting to turn left onto Birchwood Pike. 

The driver of the civilian vehicle hit the deputy's vehicle and damages both the front and the rear driver side doors and shattered the side and back windows. 

The driver and his passenger were not injured, but the Sheriff's Deputy did sustain minor injuries. He was taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation. 

The Tennessee Highway Patrol will investigate the incident.
