Bradley Co. authorities warn public of Grand Jury scam

Posted: Updated:

Bradley County Sheriff's Office is making the community aware of a new scam.

Numerous residents within Cleveland/Bradley County have received suspicious phone calls stating the recipient of the call or their family member have missed a Grand Jury court date.

The caller further states a fee has to be paid through PayPal or a Green Dot pre-paid card to cancel the criminal warrant that was issued through the court. These calls are a scam. Residents should be aware when calling back the number because a pre-recorded voicemail indicates it has been recorded by “Bradley County Jail”, however this is not affiliated with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.

These phone calls are a scam, and residents should be aware that Bradley County Sheriff’s Office personnel will never ask for a payment, under any circumstance, via phone. If a phone call is received, it should be immediately reported to local law-enforcement.
