UPDATE: Dalton road reopens after crash knocks out power
By WRCB Staff
A Dalton road has reopened after a crash knocked out power to surrounding businesses.
The crash happened shortly after 11am when a black Chevy Tahoe was traveling eastbound on Walnut Avenue, left the roadway, crossed a concrete median and into westbound traffic before hitting several trees and a power pole.
The driver of the Tahoe was taken to Hamilton Medical Center by ambulance with what are reported as non-life-threatening injuries.
Dalton Utilities is on scene and working to restore power to businesses between Market Street and Bryman Plaza North. Repairs could take a few hours. In the meantime, West Walnut Avenue is closed between Dug Gap Road/Tibbs Road and Morton Drive.
