Good Thursday. We will be hot and humid this afternoon with the high reaching 95 and a heat index near 100. I don't expect much rain, but I do think a few isolated storms will pop up with the heat of the day. Any storms that do develop will have the potential of producing damaging winds this afternoon.
We may get some drought relief Friday. We are currently under severe to extreme drought conditions with our rainfall about 9 1/2" below average. A stationary front will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms on and off overnight tonight through the day Friday and into Friday night. I am expecting most folks to get 1" to 1 1/2" with some isolated spots getting a bit more. The temp will be a bit lower with a high of 90 Friday.
The front will slide south Saturday, but should still be close enough to pop off a few showers and storms Saturday. The high Saturday will only reach 87.
Next week will be hot, humid, and only a few stray storms here and there. Temps Sunday through Thursday will reach 95-97 degrees with the heat index topping out at or just above 100.
