The City of Chattanooga continues to help its residents with a new, interactive map showing the city's parks.

This will give visitors access to other recreational information, such as playgrounds, pavilions, restrooms, sports fields, and boat launches.

Users can search for parks around four functions:

  1. Searching by address or activity
  2. Saving locations and parks to a list
  3. Finding current location and proximity to public spaces
  4. Sharing places through Facebook, Twitter, and Email

Users can easily find parks near their house or workplace or any address. Looking for the closest park with a playground, a user would select “playground” in the activity search feature and get a list of parks with playgrounds in order of distance from their current location, according to a news release.

Chattanooga has an extensive network of public parks, playgrounds, walking paths, and leisure facilities, including 4,800 acres of park space and 35 miles of greenways and trails. More than 80 parks offer a variety of passive and active recreation as well as tennis and basketball courts, walking and biking trails, ball fields, dog parks, disc golf courses, and boat launches.

Citizens can reserve picnic shelters and park grounds for birthday parties, weddings, family reunions, or races. For more information on Chattanooga’s parks, including how to make a reservation, visit the Parks website.
