More hot weather for "hump day"

Posted: Updated:

Staying hot and muggy through the week with some rain and storm.

Isolated showers/storms could pop up Wednesday afternoon, mainly in high terrain areas, with highs in the mid-90s in Chattanooga. Look for a few clouds and possibly a sprinkle tonight with lows in the lower 70s.

Spotty storms develop again Thursday with highs in the mid-90s. It looks like the best chance for rain and storms is late Thursday night and Friday as a cold front moves through the region. Lows will be in the mid-70s, highs in the lower 90s.

Then we return to a typical summer pattern and normal temperatures with daily chances for scattered afternoon and evening storms. Highs stay in check in the lower 90s, lows in the lower 70s. Because these storms are hit-and-miss, we unfortunately don't expect major drought relief. Please conserve water as much as possible.
