The Bradley County Sheriff's Office is honoring the five officers who were slain in Dallas last week.

Since midnight Monday night, and continuing through midnight Tuesday, the honor guard is standing at attention to honor the lives of the officers. It's a service that is close to their hearts.

The memorial is set up at the courthouse to remember the sacrifice of the Dallas police officers. Those who visit the memorial leave personal reflections that will be delivered to the officers' departments and their families.

From patrol officers, to school resource officers, to those who serve in various roles, Bradley County officers have manned the honor guard in 15 minute shifts, commemorating the ultimate sacrifice the five officers paid while protecting their community.

The officers say the honor guard is the least they can do to show Bradley County, and the surrounding area the solidarity and respect they have for their fellow officers.  They also want to encourage unity with those they protect and serve each day.

Late Tuesday afternoon, members of the public were invited to join the officers for a  Unity Walk near the courthouse.
