UPDATE: Homeowner stops burglary in progress
A homeowner arrived home on School Street Monday morning to find two men burglarizing his home.
A homeowner came home to an open front door and two men robbing his home in Catoosa County.
Catoosa County Sheriff Gary Sisk, says around 9 a.m. Monday deputies responded to a burglary in progress call located at 215 School Street in Rossville.
Upon arrival, deputies were met by the homeowner, Richard Brown, who told deputies he came home to find his front door open and two men inside his residence. Brown said a black older model Honda Civic with clear-coat chipping off, was in his driveway. When he pulled into his driveway, Brown said the men exited the home out a side door in an attempt to flee.
Brown described the suspects as both black males: the first suspect is approximately 5'7'' tall, 150 pounds, wearing a teal bandana on his face, black t-shirt and blue jean shorts. This suspect ran to the driver side of the vehicle, the second suspect is approximately 6'4'' tall, 180 pounds, having dreadlocks or braids, wearing a black t-shirt and blue jean pants. This suspect ran to the passenger side of the Honda Civic, began shooting at Brown while he was still inside his vehicle. Richard Brown's vehicle was struck several times by the gunfire, but he was not injured. The suspects then fled the scene.
Surrounding agencies were notified of the incident and asked to be on the lookout for the suspect vehicle and/or suspects.
