Good Friday! The heat and humidity are going to be on full display today. Our afternoon high will reach 97 degrees. The humidity will be high also, causing the heat index (or "feels like") temperature to hover between 100 and 105 degrees. I don't see us at more than a slight chance for an afternoon shower or storm. I do think storms will develop across parts of the area late tonight. Some storms could be strong to severe producing heavy rain, lightning, and damaging winds.
The weekend will see the heat subsiding a little. Highs will be in the low 90s both days, but the humidity will be high. Heat index values will be in the mid to upper 90s. A front stalling to our south will put a chance for a few storms in our forecast, but the chance is low, only 20% to 30% both Saturday and Sunday.
Another front moving through Monday will up our rain chances to start next week. The high will be 91 with scattered storms in the afternoon and evening.
