U.S. Senators Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander have submitted a Senate Resolution to honor the life anc coaching career of former Lady Vols Coach Pat Summitt.

Summitt died Tuesday after her battle with early-onset Alzheimer's disease.

During her career at the University of Tennessee, Summit won 8 NCAA Championships, won National Coach of the Year 7 times and coached the 1984 Womens' National Basketball team of an Olympic gold medal in Los Angeles.

The resolution acknowledges Summit's achievements as well has her role in guiding the student-athletes she coached at UT during her lengthy career.

Her 100% graduation rate for her teams' members serves as perhaps one of her greatest accomplishments during her tenure at the school, the resolution notes.

A copy of the resolution will be shared with Summitt's family.
