TOSHA investigating worker's death at Mars plant in Cleveland

Posted: Updated:
CLEVELAND, TN (WRCB) -

The Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the death of a worker at the Mars plant in Cleveland Thursday night.

It happened at the Peerless Road plant where M&Ms candy is made.

Officials are not releasing details of what happened at this time, but confirm a death that occurred on plant grounds last night is under investigation.

Tennessee's labor department spokesman Chris Cannon tells Channel 3, a TOSHA inspector was sent to the plant to investigate the incident right after it was reported. The inspector returned today to continue the investigation.

Cannon says, "TOSHA does not release information about its investigations until a final report is submitted four to six weeks after the inquiry is completed."

The worker's name has not been released.
