No relief from the heat and humidity. Only a few spotty storms.

Posted: Updated:

Good Thursday.  Our hot, muggy theme continues today as the high soars to 96 this afternoon.  Dew points will be in the mid to upper sixties meaning it will feel like about 100 degrees during the heat of the day.  I won't rule out a passing shower or two, but most folks won't see any rain at all today.

I don't expect many changes through the weekend.  Temps will stay in the mid 90s, about six degrees above average.  Heat index values will remain in the upper 90s and low 100s during the heat of the day.

I know you've heard it, but don't leave kids and pets in the car, even for a moment!  The temp inside a closed car can quickly get to 120 degrees in a closed car.

As far as rain, I don't expect much.  We are currently about 7 1/2 inches below average for the year and that will likely get worse.  I do think we will get a few showers and storms through the weekend, but they will be few and far between.
