A local business is cleaning up after someone smashed through the front entrance of their store Monday night.

Surveillance video shows a black Ford SUV crashing through the glass doors at Vinterest Antiques in Hixson just after 8:30 p.m. on Monday. The suspect then backed out and destroyed even more merchandise on the patio.

Store owners were notified by their alarm company and upon arrival they thought they might've been robbed. However, Store Owner Katherine Schurer said after reviewing footage she believes they were targeted.

"This incident was very calculated, it was very purposeful for a reason and we don’t understand exactly why it happened and why they chose us to target and why the anger spewed into our building,” Schurer said.

Other businesses in the area helped clean up the mess. Vinterest Antiques said no one was hurt and that the damage is estimated around $10,000.

The Chattanooga police department says they are working with the store and continue to investigate this case.
