HIXSON, TN (WRCB) -

A pet dog has died in a fire that occurred in a Hixson townhome.

Chattanooga firefighters responded to a fire in a townhome Sunday afternoon in Hixson. The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to 1280 Greenbrook Lane with four companies around 4 p.m. Battalion Chief, Chris Warren said the bulk of the fire was on the exterior of the backside of the structure.

Firefighters attacked the fire aggressively, saving most of the townhome. Chief Warren said no one was home at the time of the fire, but two dogs were inside. One dog died, but the initial indications are that the firefighters were able to revive the other dog. Chattanooga Police and Hamilton County EMS also provided assistance on scene.
