Consumer Reports' new telecom service ratings showed a broad path of unhappy customers, but Chattanooga's own EPB stood out as a bright spot in the survey.

Out of the 30 cable TV service providers, 28 of them earned the lowest scores.

EPB and Google Fiber each earned high scores from the survey respondents. Both companies offer super-fast 1-gigabit-per-second speeds.

Generally, the large, national cable providers (Comcast, Time WarnerCharter, Cox) earned the lowest scores.

EPB topped the cable TV list, and also topped the ISP (internet service provider) list as well.

Bundled packages also drew the ire of customers for lack of flexibility.
