Oscar nominated actor and director Kevin Costner and his band Modern West will headline StarNight 2016, the Siskin Children's Institute announced Tuesday.

The event will be held August 20 at the Chattanooga Convention Center with co-chairs Bill and Mary Kilbride, the event will welcome approximately 1500 guests. 

StarNight, the gala event is in its 54th year, supports Siskin Children's Institute efforts on behalf of children with special needs and their families. 

Kevin Costner & Modern West, a rock/country band formed with encouragement from Costner's wife. The band has released three albums since 2008. They have played shows all over the United States and abroad.

StarNight 2016 opens with a cocktail reception, beginning at 6 p.m., a formal dinner followed by a performance by Kevin Costner & Modern West. An after-party with dancing and music will round out the night.
