Woman behind bars facing list of charges including Felony Evading Arrest
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
A disorder between two women lead to a police chase through East Chattanooga and ended with one woman in jail Friday evening.
Chattanooga Police say another woman was following Lindsay Morris, who had allegedly stolen her vehicle. Police were able to catch up with the car on 4th Ave. near East Lake Courts.
The officer said he tried to open the passenger door but that Morris then sped off. The officer got back in his patrol car, at which point he said the suspect vehicle turned around and "rapidly accelerated directly towards" him.
The car never struck the police officers but missed it by "inches," according to the affidavit.
Police caught back up with the suspect vehicle after it crashed into several cars at the intersection of 4th Ave. and E. 23rd St.
Morris ran towards a local store where a security officer detained her.
Morris had a revoked driver's license and was also charged with two counts of aggravated assault, theft of property, reckless driving, felony evading arrest, leaving the scene of an accident with injury, due care, and failure to obey traffic control signals.
She was booked into jail on a $146,000 bond. She's due in court May 27 in front of Judge Shattuck.
