Landon Donovan hosts youth clinic for CFC Foundation

Posted: Updated:

Chattanooga has a soccer celebrity in town this weekend. Former team USA scoring legend, Landon Donovan, was out at CCS soccer field Friday hosting a youth clinic for boys and girls ages 9-17 in the Chattanooga area.

Retired American professional soccer players Stuart Holden, Brian Ching, and Donovan are the founders of H.E.L.M, an approach that strives to empower America's youth with the principles; (H)umility (E)ducation (L)eadership and (M)otivation.

For three hours the soccer superstars ran through drills and game-like situations with over thirty kids. Besides learning from the best, the participants were also given a H.E.L.M. t-shirt and Nike duffel bag with gear.

The celebrity soccer weekend continues Saturday with a family fun run at 8:00 a.m. and then a photo-op with the soccer studs. A family photo is $85 and an individual is $55. The proceeds benefit the CFC Foundation.
