The Atlanta Falcons and the Mercedes-Benz Stadium announced their plan for a new food and beverage pricing model for the new stadium.
In a Monday morning press conference, Falcons owner Arthur Blank said the new "fan-first menu" is to thank fans for their support.
"Thank you for making this dream come true," he said.
lank said the new pricing will make it easier for a family to afford to eat at the stadium instead of going somewhere else before or after the event.
He said the team looked at "variety, value and pricing" when developing the new pricing structure. Blank also said the pricing announced Monday will be the "normal prices."
"These are not opening day specials," he said.
A release from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium reads, "The fan-fist menu at Mercedes-Benz Stadium will include the most popular items priced as follows without compromising quality:
$2 - Non-alcoholic beverage, products with unlimited free refills (at freestanding refill stations)
$2 - Dasani bottled water; hot dogs; pretzels; popcorn
$3 - Peanuts; pizza; nachos; waffle fried
$5 - 12 oz. domestic beer"
Seats in the new stadium will also be wider than seats at The Georgia Dome. Most Dome seats are 19 inches wide. Seats at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be either 21 or 20 inches.
The stadium is expected to open June 2017.
