TSSAA District highlights and scores

District play for Tennessee wrapped up this week for high school baseball, softball, and soccer. Bradley Central won District 5-AAA Tuesday night, meanwhile, Hixson, South Pitt, Boyd Buchanan, and Signal Mountain baseball teams won their districts Wednesday night. Ooltewah, Marion County, and Central softball teams won district titles Wednesday night, and Silverdale Baptist, Sequoyah, and Meigs Co. softball teams won their districts Friday.

    Tennessee wide receiver Josh Smith is expected to miss the start of the season after injuring his collarbone. Volunteers coach Butch Jones said Monday there's no timetable on Smith's potential return but added that he anticipates the fifth-year senior will miss at least Tennessee's first game.
